The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) was founded in 1926, and provides services and public policy advocacy for trucking companies hauling freight into, out of and within the Province of Ontario. OTA member fleets operate over two-thirds of all commercial tractor-trailers on Ontario roadways and employ over 70,000 men and women who work in the trucking industry. OTA is the only trucking association in Ontario that represents all segments of the industry – for-hire carriers, private carriers, intermodal, suppliers, etc.
The mission of the Ontario Trucking Association is:
To create and sustain the environment in which the Ontario Trucking Industry can achieve its vision; to serve all OTA members fairly and equitably regardless of size, domicile or type of operation; and, to assist OTA members in realizing their business goals.
The vision for the Ontario trucking industry developed by OTA is as follows:
Driven by integrity, innovation and the pursuit of cost-effective service, we, the Ontario Trucking Industry, through continuous improvement, will provide a vital contribution to our customers’ success, overall economic prosperity and our communities’ well-being.
Our Vision includes sufficient profitability, and enhanced image, mutually beneficial partnerships with customers, employees, owner-operators, suppliers and the public, while operating in a safe, environmentally and socially responsible manner.
